Spalding Town Board has expressed its thanks to members of the public who have shared their views in the consultation on the £20M investment in the town.
To date, 498 responses have been provided to the survey, and given the interest in the consultation, the deadline for hard copy responses has been extended to Friday, 21st June. Paper copies are available for anyone who didn’t receive one by contacting Spalding.TownBoard@sholland.gov.uk
In addition to the online and paper surveys, events have also taken place in the town. Heritage Lincolnshire hosted two feedback walkabouts for the public on Tuesday 6th and Thursday 11th June when residents were invited to share their reflections on the town centre.
Also, on Tuesday, 28th May, the YMCA Lincolnshire Youth Team based themselves in the town centre, ready to hear feedback from young people. Further events will be held in the coming months.
Community groups across the area have been contacted with an invitation to get involved, and if any community group would like to share their feedback at a meeting or event, they can get in touch: Spalding.TownBoard@sholland.gov.uk
The next step for the Board is to review the feedback that has been given, along with data insight for the town, and develop a vision and investment plan.
On behalf of the board I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has taken the time to share their views.
We have had a great response and what respondents have told us will give us a real understanding of what matters to local people, helping us to determine how the £20M is spent in our town.
This is just the start of our engagement with residents who are at the very heart of the vision and plan. We will continue to make sure that opportunities are offered for people to have their say and help to shape what happens in the years to come.
We will keep people updated on the next steps, and once again, I would like to emphasise how appreciative the board is for the interest and involvement of Spalding residents.
Robin HancoxChair of Spalding Town Board
The vision and first three-year investment plan will be submitted by 1st August. A further update will be shared with the public in due course.
